Planeta is a Sicilian wine company established in 1995. Planeta is not one but six ways of articulating the land in six different contexts. Such is the number of estates that produce their wine; boutique wineries each seeking, through careful research, to celebrate its locality. Ulmo at Sambuca di Sicilia (AG), Dispensa at Menfi (AG), Dorilli at Vittoria (RG), Buonivini at Noto (SR), Sciara Nuova on Etna at Castiglione di Sicilia (CT) and finally La Baronia at Capo Milazzo (ME) are the Planeta locations, a total surface area of the vineyard of 364 hectares.

WINE DESCRIPTION: A powerful red, structured on a dense and important tannin texture balanced by a decisive alcoholic content. The nose is rich and concentrated. The intertwining of spices, red fruit, and black cherry with accents of leather, earth, cocoa, marine, and mineral notes. The frame is balmy almost minty. Tasting strength is based on a ripe, very dense, rich fruit. The flavors are those of bilberry and preserved sour cherries mixed with leather which gradually develop into intense aromas of cherry, cocoa, iodine, and rosemary.
FOOD PAIRING: For daily drinking, it is ideal with Mediterranean pasta dishes and light meals of meat, vegetables or oily fish.
